APPENDIX
1. Ben Rawling, Fleet
Ben has been given the opportunity to work with a charity called Oasis who are involved in community and social projects in Great Britain and abroad. In October he will spend six months in Sao Paulo, Brazil working with under-privileged children and their families in the city favelas and also supporting the church in their work for young people. Ben needs to raise £3,200, of which he has £850.

2. Katie Sloane, Kings Worthy
Katie is undertaking a voluntary project in Malaysia in January next year for six months. Once there, she will be responsible for teaching English to Malaysian schoolchildren aged between 11 and 16 years. In order to take part in the project, Katie needs to raise £3,000 for which she is currently fundraising.

3. Katie Beal - Preston, Fleet
Katie is an 18 year old student who has just finished her A levels and is undertaking a gap project in Sao Paulo, Brazil in October for 6 months.
Once there, she will be working with the poor children in nurseries and pre-school clubs, running "Mothers and toddlers" groups in order to teach basic health care and working with local churches in their social welfare projects.
Katie needs to raise £3,500 towards her costs.

4. Elizabeth Sandford, Four Marks
Elizabeth is travelling to Nepal as part of a Soapbox Expedition to help build a multi-purpose unit, which will be used as a school, orphanage and as a feeding centre for the street children of Kathmandu. She is spending three weeks there and needs to raise £1,300 to cover travelling expenses and buying building materials, tools and play equipment, of which she has £900.

5. Mark Lewis, Stubbington
Mark has been chosen to teach English in a School in Bangalore, India during September this year until February 2002. Total cost of project is £1,800 of which he has already raised £1,400.

6. Tom Phillips, Sway
Tom is currently at University Chester College studying Sports Science and History. This year he has been selected to represent the Scotland Student Rugby League Team. Tom asks whether a grant could be awarded towards his costs in competing in the European Championships in Russia later this month for which he needs to raise approximately £380.
