3. DEPUTATIONS
One deputation has been notified so far, from parents and governors of Whitedown School. There is likely to be a deputation from the Meadow School but no formal notice has so far been received. Item 4 below refers.
4. EAST HAMPSHIRE SPECIAL SCHOOLS (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the County Education Officer on the outcome of consultations relating to the future organisation of Whitedown School, Alton and the Meadow School, Bordon, on possible ways forward for the organisation of special education in East Hampshire. This report and the Committee's advice upon it will be considered by the Executive Member for Education on 23 November. It will represent a key decision.
5. SOUTH EAST HAMPSHIRE - SCHOOL FOR PUPILS WITH EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIOURAL DIFFICULTIES (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the County Education Officer on the outcome of consultations relating to the proposal to relocate the Sundridge unit and establish a school for secondary aged boys with emotional and behavioural difficulties on the site of the former Park House Primary School, Havant. This report and the Committee's advice upon it will be considered by the Executive Member for Education on 23 November. It will represent a key decision.
6. REVENUE BUDGET MONITORING 2001/02 (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the County Treasurer and County Education Officer on the Committee's Revenue Budget for the current year.
7. EXCLUSIONS (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the County Education Officer on numbers of exclusions from Hampshire schools and on the progress made in reducing the incidence of permanent exclusions.
8. PUPIL ATTITUDE SURVEY (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the County Education Officer on pupils' expectations and perceptions regarding their education.
9. DATES FOR FUTURE MEETINGS
All Members are asked to note that, because of volume of business, the next two meetings of the Education Policy Review Committee will both be all-day events, as follows:
Thursday 20 December 2001 - 11.00 a.m.
Tuesday 22 January 2002 - 11.00 a.m.
both in the Council Chamber.
The remaining dates for 2002 are as scheduled:
Tuesdays - 19 March; 21 May; 16 July; 15 October; and 19 November, all at 2.15 p.m.
County Councillors attending as appointed members of this committee or by virtue of Standing Orders 17.5; or with the concurrence of the chairman in connection with their duties as members of the Council or as a local County Councillor qualify for travelling expenses.
Appointed and co-opted members similarly qualify for payment of travelling expenses.
