1. Summary
1.1 The following decisions are sought:
(i) That the proposals set out in the Fareham-Gosport Peninsula Accessibility Study, including the Stubbington Bypass, be developed and prepared for implementation.
(ii) That Fareham Borough Council be requested to take into account the proposed Stubbington Bypass in the preparation of its Local Plan Review.
(iii) That Options for modifying Quay Street roundabout be not pursued at this time.
2. Reason
2.1 The Fareham-Gosport Peninsula Accessibility Study has identified a set of proposals to improve the transport provision for this peninsula in the short, medium and longer term. These proposals require considerable further assessment and design work to prepare them for implementation.
2.2 A report to the South East Hampshire Transport Strategy Meeting of County Council and District Council Representatives on 22 November 2001 set out the findings and conclusions of the study and recommended the development of the proposals (copy attached as an appendix).
