1. Summary
1.1 The following decision is sought:
That the consultation strategy for the Western Hampshire Transport Strategy be approved.
2. Reason
2.1 It is proposed to consult on the emerging transport strategy for Western Hampshire. The ability to get local people to contribute to the this is important to the overall success and acceptance of the finalised strategy. The involvement and commitment of key stakeholders and other bodies, such as the Countryside Agency, the Freight Transport Association, schools and businesses, will also be important and the consultation process will be the first stage of involving them in the development of the strategy.
2.2 A report to the Western Hampshire Transportation Strategy Members' Panel on 20 November 2001 recommended approval of the consultation strategy (attached as an appendix).
