1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

    That the initiative to improve bus services between the Whiteley/ Segensworth area and the Fareham-Gosport Peninsula be endorsed.

2. Reason

2.1 Cooperation and liaison with a business forum at Whiteley and other companies at Whiteley and Segensworth has identified the potential to develop innovative measures to promote and improve bus services between the Whiteley/Segensworth and Fareham/Gosport areas. The recent Fareham Gosport Peninsula Accessibility Study has also recommended such measures.

2.2 A report to the South East Hampshire Transport Strategy Meeting of County Council and District Council Representatives on 22 November 2001 recommended that this initiative be progressed (attached as an appendix).
