1. Summary
1.1 The following decision is sought:
That implementation of the measures proposed to support significant improvements in passenger transport provision in the Basingstoke Environmental Strategy for Transport area be approved.
2. Reason
2.1 A recent consultant study, `A Review of Passenger Transport in the Basingstoke Area', set out an extensive list of recommendations to improve passenger transport infrastructure and services, supported by a Area Forum and a specific Quality Partnership with Stagecoach in Hampshire within the established overall Quality Partnership.
2.2 A report to the Basingstoke Environmental Strategy for Transport Members' Panel on 14 November 2001 recommended accepting the findings of the study and implementing its recommendations (attached as an appendix).
