1. Summary
1.1 The following decision is sought:
That the investment programme for the A30 Basingstoke to M3 Junction 7 corridor be approved.
2. Reason
2.1 Implementation of the A30 south-west corridor strategy is a high priority within the Basingstoke Environmental Strategy for Transport. A range of measures has been proposed following public consultation in late 2000. These measures include new arrangements at road junctions, measures for pedestrians and cyclists, consideration of a priority lane for multi-occupancy vehicles and other schemes designed to meet the objectives of the strategy.
2.2 A report to the Basingstoke Environmental Strategy for Transport Members' Panel on 14 November 2001 recommended acceptance of the investment programme (attached as an appendix).
