1. Summary

1.1. The following decisions are sought:

1. That the following framework of appointments to district Local Strategic Partnerships (LSP's) for community planning purposes and Community Safety Partnerships (CSP's) be approved and as necessary after consultation with the Executive Member for Community Development, Regeneration and Internal Liaison the Chief Executive be authorised to make arrangements for members to represent the County Council on other partnerships :-

2. That, the Chief Executive, in consultation with the Executive Member for Community Development, Regeneration and Internal Liaison be authorised to approve the attendance of backbencher representatives at related events as and when necessary.

1. Reason(s):

2.1 On 19 September 2001 Cabinet endorsed the backbencher support arrangements on Local Strategic Partnerships (LSP's) for community planning purposes and similarly on Community Safety Partnerships (CSP's). In order to extend backbench involvement in some districts this report makes revised proposals.

2.2. The revised nominations are set out above.

2.3 It is possible that Councillor D. A. Kirk, portfolio holder for Community Development, Regeneration and Internal Liaison will not be able to attend all the meetings associated with the LSP's and CSP's and accordingly, it is proposed that the Chief Executive in consultation with Councillor Kirk be authorised to approve the attendance of the backbencher representatives as and when necessary.
