New Joint Arrangements for the Manydown Land, Basingstoke

1 Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

To appoint four Members to the Manydown Joint Committee until the Annual Meeting of the County Council in May 2005.

1.2 Whilst the full list of eligible County Council Members is set out in the appended report, it is proposed that Cabinet adopts the protocol that Executive Members with landholding and planning responsibilities for the Manydown land should take no part in any discussions on matters which affect the land.

2 Reason

2.1 To meet the obligations of the Council and to maintain a separation of landholding and forward planning functions.

3.1 None.

5 Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee

5.1 Not applicable.

6 Reasons for the matter being dealt with if urgent

6.1 To reinstate joint arrangements for the Manydown land following the end of the previous joint arrangements by operation of law.
