1. Summary Sheets

1.1. Attached are the summary sheets in respect of the following public meetings of Police and Community Liaison Groups:-

Fareham 26 November 2001
Gosport 11 December 2001
Havant 11 December 2001
Isle of Wight 28 November 2001
Portsmouth 14 November 2001

2. New Consultation arrangements

2.1. Throughout the month of December eight PCLG's have held group meetings which were specially convened to advise the current groups of the new arrangements for consultation from 1 April 2002.

2.2. Police Authority Members have now been appointed to the new Core Groups and all of the local authority Community Safety Officers have been invited to join the groups and have received a copy of the report to the authority.

2.3. The posts for the Core Group Administrators have been advertised and interviews are due to take place shortly to fill these new posts.

2.4. In the event that the new posts cannot be filled prior to the first meetings of the Core Groups, staff from the Police Authority Office will fulfil the role of Administrator, until such time that the posts are filled.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

(a) That the report be noted.


(b) That the Chairman write personally to PCLG Secretaries thanking them for all their support and efforts to assist with the running of PCLG's.
