1. APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN

In accordance with Section 5 of the Committee's constitution nominations for the appointment of Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing year are requested.

2. MINUTES AND MATTERS ARISING (Copy herewith)

To confirm the Minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 26 September, 2001.

3. APPOINTMENT OF VICE-CHAIRMAN

In accordance with Section 5 of the Committee's Constitution nominations for the appointment of Vice-Chairmen of the Committee for the ensuing year are requested.

4. THE WORK OF THE YOUTH OFFENDING TEAM AND ITS PARTNER AGENCIES IN HAMPSHIRE (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the Wessex Youth Offending Team Manager describing the management arrangements for Hampshire and a summary of four innovative projects, three of which are part funded by the Youth Justice Board. The Committee will also receive a video presentation from Andy Kennedy, Development Worker, Youth Offending Team concerning the South East Hampshire Duke of Edinburgh Award project.

5. ANALYSIS OF YOUTH JUSTICE PLANS 2001/02 AND THE WESSEX YOUTH JUSTICE PLAN FOR 2002/03 (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the Wessex Youth Offending Team Manager detailing the National Analysis of Youth Justice Plans, the management information requirements of the Youth Justice Board and requesting the Committee's approval for the priorities of the Youth Justice Plan for 2002/03.

6. THE WORK OF THE SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO PREVENT YOUTH OFFENDING (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the Wessex Youth Offending Team Manager summarising the ways in which Local Authorities are responding to the Government's "Quality Protects" initiative for children's social services. The Committee will also receive a presentation from Natalie Trentham, Quality Protects Manager for Hampshire Social Services.

7. PROPOSED WORK SCHEDULE (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the Wessex Youth Offending Team Manager setting out a proposed programme of work for 2002.

8. ARRANGEMENTS FOR ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The Committee's views are requested on the possibility of holding an annual conference in July, 2002 at Netley Police Headquarters.
