1. Summary

1.1. This report deals with the need to fill a vacancy on the Personnel Committee and to appoint a new Vice-Chairman of that Committee.

2. Personnel Committee

2.1. There is a vacancy on the Personnel Committee following the resignation of Councillor M.S. Geddes who was also Vice-Chairman of that Committee. Councillor R. Baulk has replaced Councillor Geddes on the Authority.

2.2. As a result of the above, a Conservative Group nomination is required to fill the vacancy on the Personnel Committee and the Authority will wish to appoint a new Vice-Chairman of that Committee.

3. European Convention on Human Rights and the Human Rights Act 1998

3.1. The proposals within this report are compatible with the provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights and the Human Rights Act 1998.

Recommendation:

(i) That a Conservative Group appointment be made to fill the vacancy on the Personnel Committee.

(ii) That a new Vice-Chairman of the Committee be appointed.
