MATTERS ARISING

As Cllr Gausden had been unable to attend previous meetings regarding the grading review, Ms Hearnden summarised the job evaluation process and pay modelling exercises to date; the pay model agreed with the trade unions to be applied, the impact on individual employees and the proposed method for implementing the results. The members were shown examples of the information pack and letters that were to be given to employees. It was emphasised that the results were subject to final approval from the Fire Authority and subject to the results from the Trade Union ballot. Details of the full involvement of, and negotiations with, the recognised Trade Unions, Unison and GMB, and the use of an external consultant were also explained

The Personnel Sub Committee unanimously accepted the proposed pay model [11-12 New Permutations (10)] and agreed to the implementation of the project, subject to final approval from the Fire Authority.
