PART I

SOUTHAMPTON AREA TRANSPORTATION STRATEGY PANEL AND

SOUTH EAST HAMPSHIRE TRANSPORATION STRATEGY PANEL -

REVISED TERMS OF REFERENCE AND CHANGE OF NAME

1. The Executive Member has considered revised Terms of Reference for the Southampton Area Transportation Strategy Panel and the South East Hampshire Transportation Strategy Panel following the decision by Southampton City Council and Portsmouth City Council to withdraw from these Panels. The Panels are now heavily engaged in the implementation of the County Council's Capital Programme and the two city councils did not wish to be unnecessarily involved in this process. Revised Terms of Reference are therefore set out as appended, together with a recommended change of name.

RECOMMENDATION

1. That the Terms of Reference of the Southampton Area Transportation
Strategy (SATS) Panel and the South East Hampshire Transportation
Strategy (SEHTS) Panel be revised as shown in the Appendices.

2. That the Panels be renamed as the South West Hampshire
Transportation Panel and South East Hampshire Transportation Panel
respectively, in order to reflect the revised Terms of Reference and that
Part 1: Chapter 10 of the Constitution be revised accordingly under the
Heading "Local Transportation Panels".

                KEITH B. ESTLIN

                Chairman
