1. The Executive Member has approved the Service Plan for the Hampshire Record Office for 2002/03 which would previously have been approved by the Archives Panel of the former Recreation and Heritage Committee. The aim of the plan is to continue existing initiatives in most areas and team and individual plans will be prepared by managers to support the priorities listed below and to identify officers for the delivery of specific targets.

2. The main priorities identified for the coming year are:

    · Integration into the new Recreation and Department with the aim of providing opportunities for continuing and extending the scope of work with colleagues particularly in the libraries and museums sectors;

    · Continuing the work which commenced last year in connection with freedom of information and data protection legislation;

    · Continuing to progress electronic access to the collections in line with the Government agenda for such access to all services by 2004 and to reach out to as wide an audience as possible; and

    · Continuing to practice and develop the principles of Investor in People, for the benefit of all staff.

3. In 1999 Hampshire Record Office achieved Charter Mark a Government award for excellence and as this is due for renewal this year an application will be made in the Spring for assessment later in the Summer.
