1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That approval be given for the current lease arrangements which require the City Council to maintain the two Park and Ride sites at St Catherine's and Barfield to an appropriate standard to be continued, subject to the approval of the Executive Member for Policy and Resources.

2. Reason

2.1 The two car parks at St Catherine's and Barfield, Bar End, Winchester have been leased to Winchester City Council on a two-yearly basis as part of a maintenance arrangement since the opening of Park and Ride. The current lease (which commenced on 1 June 2000) expires at the end of May 2002. It is proposed that the lease be renewed to continue the current arrangements.

2.2 The City Council has agreed, in correspondence with the Property, Business and Regulatory Services Department (Estates Practice), to renew the lease for a period of two years commencing 1 June 2002.
