Model Code of Conduct for Members
Report of the Clerk
Contact: Kelvin Ridout.
1. Background
At its meeting on 6 February, 2002, the Authority adopted the Statutory Model Code of Conduct for Members. Included within its provisions are requirements to declare any financial and other interests within 28 days and for each Member of the Authority to sign-up to the Code within 2 months as failure to do so will result in that member ceasing to be a member of the Authority.
2. Present Position
As one of this Committee's roles is to monitor the operation of the Authority's Code of Conduct it will wish to know that all but one member has signed up to the Code within the required time period. As a result this Member ceases to be a member of the Authority and has been advised of this.
3. European Convention on Human Rights and the Human Rights Act 1998
The proposals within the report are compatible with the provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights and the Human Rights Act 1998.
