To consider a report of the Consultant on the annual grants to various charitable organisations concerned with the prevention or reduction of crime.

    (i) BISHOP'S GREEN YOUTH PROJECT
    - youth diversionary project

    (ii) BOARHUNT PARISH COUNCIL MULTI - SPORTS INITIATIVE
    - multi-sport court at recreation field

    (iii) DRUGS AND ALCOHOL FLOATING SUPPORT PROGRAMME
    - "Floating Support Scheme" for young people with drug or alcohol problems in Aldershot (Emmaus Projects)

    (iv) FAREHAM AND DISTRICT CIVILIAN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CO-ORDINATOR
    - domestic violence co-ordinator for Fareham Police Station.

    (v) ISLE OF WIGHT CHALLENGE AND ADVENTURE TRUST
    - to provide diverse activities to help disadvantaged young people.

    (vi) LOOKING GOOD PROJECT
    - train youth workers and provide workshops to tackle bullying, self-esteem and confidence.

    (vii) NEIGHBOURHOOD SAFETY PROJECT, NEWTOWN/NICHOLSTOWN
    - Neighbourhood safety project (Crime Concern)

    (viii) PORTSMOUTH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FORUM BEST PRACTICE GUIDE
    - production of guidance and publicity material

    (ix) PROJECT ICARUS
    - production of educational video documentary regarding nuisance and its effects on the community

    (x) STAKES SOUTH YOUTH COMMUNITY PROGRAMME
    - Youth centre for the young people of Stakes Ward.

    (xi) STANMORE CRIME CHALLENGE INITIATIVE
    - recruit two youth workers to provide diversionary activities for young people

    (xii) TIME OUT SCHEME
    - "Time Out Scheme" to re-engage young people in Wecock Farm

    (xiii) WEST WIGHT COMMUNITY INITIATIVE (STROUD PLAY EQUIPMENT PROJECT)
    - suitable junior play equipment at Stroud Recreation Ground

    (xiv) WEST WIGHT COMMUNITY INITIATIVE (WEST WIGHT SKATEBOARD PROJECT)
    - provision of a skateboard park

    (xv) WOOTTON ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND INITIATIVE
    - refurbishment of play equipment

RECOMMENDATION:

That, by virtue of Paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 the press and public be excluded from the meeting.
