Membership of Panels and Appointments to Outside Bodies

Report of the Clerk

1. Introduction

1.1. The purpose of this report is to confirm the membership of the Authority's Panels and appointments to outside bodies in accordance with proportional entitlements under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.

2. Current Membership

2.1. The current appointments were made in July, 2001 for a four year period with Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen being determined by the Authority on an annual basis. Membership lists for Panels and details of appointments to outside bodies are set out in the Appendix.

3. Local Elections - May, 2002

3.1. Following the local elections in May, 2002, there is no change to the proportionality of seats amongst the elected Members and, therefore, there are no proposals to alter the composition of each Panel.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

(a) That the membership of the Panels set out in the Appendix to the report be confirmed.

(b) That Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of Panels as indicated in the Appendix to the report be appointed for the forthcoming year.

(c) That the appointments to outside bodies as set out in the Appendix to the report be confirmed.
