1. Summary
1.1 The following decisions were taken:
(i) to approve the response to the consultation by the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on the future for food and farming, as set out in the attached report and its appendix and as supplemented by the Cabinet in discussion;
(ii) to endorse further examination of how the County Council might support the farming community, as set out in paragraph 11.2 of the attached report;
(iii) to urge the Government to accept fully the recommendations of the Policy Commission, including in particular those relating to modulation; and
(iv) to circulate the full text of the County Council's response to Hampshire Members of Parliament, the National Farmers' Union, the Country Land and Business Association and such other bodies as the officers may consider appropriate.
