2. THE MYNERS : PRINCIPLES FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF DESIGNED BENEFIT SCHEMES (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the County Treasurer detailing the extent to which the Hampshire Fund already complies with the Government's ten recommended principles for the management of defined benefit schemes following the publication of the Myners report on institutional investment.

3. INDEPENDENT ADVISER TO THE PANEL (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the County Treasurer detailing the arrangements in place at other administering authorities and sets out the options for the Panel.

4. REPRESENTATION (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the County Treasurer reviewing the appointments of the employee and pensioner representatives to the Panel, and looking again at the current arrangements for representatives for the other employers in the Fund.

5. ACTUARIAL VALUATION OF THE PENSION FUND AS AT 31 MARCH 2001 (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the County Treasurer summarising the results of the valuation.

6. THE FUTURE OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT PENSION SCHEME
(Report herewith)

To consider a report of the County Treasurer about pension costs and the results of the stocktaking exercise on the Local Government Pension Scheme.

7. EQUITABLE LIFE UPDATE (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the County Treasurer updating the Panel on developments since last October's meeting.

To consider a report of the County Treasurer updating the Panel on developments since last October's meeting.

RECOMMENDATION:

That, by virtue of paragraphs 7 and 12 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items.
