To consider the report of the County Treasurer on the Government's draft Bill to give effect to all the proposals (mainly financial) in the Local Government White Paper that require legislation.

To consider the report of the County Treasurer on progress on the review of revenue grant distribution.

5. SPENDING REVIEW 2002 ANNOUNCEMENT

To consider the report of the County Treasurer on the Chancellor of the Exchequer's recent announcement of the 2002 Spending Review of public spending plans for the period 2003/04 to 2005/06.

6. FINAL ACCOUNTS 2001/02 (Report to follow)

To consider the report of the County Treasurer which reviews the 2001/02 final accounts and makes proposals about underspendings and overspendings.

7. 2001/02 CAPITAL SPENDING AND FINANCING (Report herewith)

To consider the report of the County Treasurer which sets out the extent to which the 2001/02 Capital Programme has been started and the carry forward and financing implications.

8. CAPITAL STRATEGY AND ASSET MANAGEMENT PLAN

To consider the report of the County Treasurer and Director of Property, Business and Regulatory Services seeking approval to the draft Capital Strategy and Corporate Asset Management Plan for submission to Council.

9. A SOUTH DOWNS NATIONAL PARK - LOCAL AUTHORITY CONSULTATION
(Report herewith)

To consider the report of the County Planning Officer on the proposed formal response to the consultation from the Countryside Agency on its proposals for a national park in the South Downs.

Councillor Mrs. E.M. Byrom, County Councillor for the Catherington Division, will make a presentation to Cabinet seeking support for the inclusion of Rowlands Castle in the National Park.

10. EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

RECOMMENDATION:

That, by virtue of Paragraph 9 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for consideration of the following item.

11. NURSING CARE INVESTMENT STRATEGY (Report herewith)

Pursuant to Minute 107 of 24 June 2002, to consider the confidential report of the Director of Social Services and the Director of Property, Business and Regulatory Services on the demand for additional registered nursing home capacity.
