AT A MEETING of the CRIME PREVENTION PANEL of HAMPSHIRE POLICE AUTHORITY held at Westgate Chambers, Staple Gardens, Winchester on Thursday 25 July, 2002

Also present: Chief Inspector M. Dulson (Community Safety, Hampshire Constabulary); Mr. B. Saunders (Crime Prevention Consultant); Ms. C. Vagg and Mrs. M. Boyes (Clerk's Office).
102 APOLOGIES
Apologies were received from Mr. R. Palmer, Councillor D. Gillett and Mr. P. Jacobs (Assistant Chief Constable).
103 MINUTES
The Minutes of the meeting of the Panel held on 23 May, 2002 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.
Matters arising:
Minute 95 - Crime Prevention Panel Annual Review 2001/02
The annual review document had now been printed and was available for distribution. The Panel thanked the Crime Prevention Consultant and Media Services Officer for their hard work to achieve such a worthwhile document.
Minute 98 - Progress Reports
The Consultant updated the Panel on three initiatives since the last meeting, namely Wickham Skate Park, Rookley Parish Council, and Street Talk in Chandlers Ford.
104 APPLICATIONS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The Panel considered the report of the Clerk (Item 3 in the Minute Book) on requests for financial assistance.
RESOLVED:
That contributions totalling £36,268 be made to the organisations specified in Appendix I to the Minutes.
(NOTE A: Councillor Mrs. J. Rayment declared an interest in respect of Item 5 on Appendix I.
NOTE B: Mrs. J. Griffin, JP declared an interest in respect of Item 11 on Appendix I and left the room whilst the matter was discussed).
105 PROGRESS REPORTS
The Panel considered a report of the Consultant (Item 6 in the Minute Book) which summarised the monitoring and evaluation reports which had been received from organisations since the last meeting.
RESOLVED:
That the report be noted.
