AT A MEETING of the JOINT SERVICES FOR YOUTH BEST VALUE PANEL of the COUNTY COUNCIL held at The Castle, Winchester on Wednesday, 2 October 2002.

9. MINUTES

The Minutes of the Meeting of the Panel held on 2 July 2002 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

10. CHAIRMAN'S COMMUNICATIONS

The Chairman said that this would be the last meeting of the Panel and thanked everyone involved for their hard work and co-operation.

11. OUTCOME REPORT OF THE JOINT SERVICES FOR YOUTH BEST VALUE REVIEW

The Chief Executive and County Education Officer presented the outcome report of the Joint Services for Youth Best Value Review (Item 6 in the Minute Book).

RESOLVED:

That:

    (a) subject to the typing corrections highlighted in Appendix 1 the outcome report and improvement plan be agreed as representing the views of the Panel

    (b) a summary of the review be prepared in the standard format for inclusion in the Best Value Performance Plan

    (c) the summary and improvement plan be provided to Cabinet to effect the implementation of the review outcome and give consideration to corporate funding

    (d) arrangements be made for the Youth Panel to receive annual progress reports until the improvement plan is completed

    (e) the Cabinet be requested to give consideration to the appropriate composition of the Youth Panel and mechanisms for reporting to the Executive to ensure a continuing focus on youth issues across all County Council departments and enabling in-depth examination of areas identified for review.
