To consider a report of the County Education Officer on the issues involved in managing the growing numbers of surplus places in primary schools and on the opportunities offered by local reviews to rationalise and improve provision.

7. EDUCATION ACT 2002: SCHOOLS FORUM, ADMISSIONS, GOVERNANCE (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the County Education Officer on various aspects of the Education Act 2002, in particular the establishment of a Schools Forum; admissions; and governance.

8. VALUING GOVERNORS - POLICY REVIEW (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the County Education Officer setting out suggested ways in which the role of governors might be further recognised.

9. SUMMER 2002 EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS AND NATIONAL CURRICULUM ASSESSMENTS (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the County Education Officer on results obtained in GCSE and Key Stage National Curriculum assessments by pupils in Hampshire schools.

10. MEMBERS' QUESTIONS

County Councillors attending as appointed members of this committee or by virtue of Standing Order 17.5; or with the concurrence of the chairman in connection with their duties as members of the Council or as a local County Councillor, qualify for travelling expenses.

Appointed and co-opted members similarly qualify for payment of travelling expenses.
