1. Applications have been received from young people in Hampshire undertaking expeditions, overseas projects, personal development, etc. in accordance with the following details:-
1.1. Catherine Watson, Winchester
Catherine is 18 years old and has recently been accepted by Scripture Union, a Christian Organisation, to do a gap year placement in South Africa before starting university.
In January next year, for a period of six months, she will be working in and around Cape Town with children from a variety of backgrounds and different ages and helping to lead a life skills programme in schools which includes modules such as self-esteem, relationships and Aids. To fund the trip Catherine needs to raise £2,500 to cover flights, fees and living expenses. Catherine has so far raised £250 towards these costs.

1.2. Katherine Durbin, Horndean
Katherine (15) has been selected by Girlguiding South West England to take part in an international camp in Australia between 10 and 27 April next year. The aim of the trip is to forge and improve international friendships between girl guides throughout the world. Total cost: £1,500.
Katherine Has so far raised £530 and has received £300 in donations from various guiding organisations
