Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

1.2

That approval be given to the attached design project appraisal for the construction of additional teaching accommodation and the removal of a temporary building at Buriton Primary School.

1.3

That approval be given to the use of three preferred contractors for the tender of this scheme.

Reason

2.1

To provide additional places in purpose built accommodation under the Key Stage 2 initiative.

2.2

To ensure the tender list includes high calibre contractors who have successfully completed schemes of a similar nature to a high standard.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
