Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

1.2

That approval be given to the attached design project appraisal for the construction of additional teaching accommodation at Hook Junior School.

1.3

That approval be given to the negotiation of this contract with Mansells.

Reason

2.1

To provide additional places in purpose built accommodation under the Key Stage 2 initiative.

2.2

Mansells successfully completed all twenty of the scheme in the Key Stage 1 Initiative and it is proposed that this contractor will undertake the majority of the schemes in the Key Stage 2 Initiative.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
