Contracts for the Provision of Youth Justice Services

1. Summary

1.1. The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member for Social Care on behalf of Hampshire County Council extend the existing contracts of youth justice service providers until not later than 31 December, 2003.

That the Executive Member for Social Care authorise a process of retendering for services where value for money can be achieved from the independent sector.

2. Reasons

2.1. The Combined Youth Justice Committee at its meeting on 25 September, 2002 considered a report of the Head of Youth Offending Services detailing proposals for ensuring the continued delivery of youth justice services after March, 2003.
