1. APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN

RESOLVED:

That Councillor T. K. Thornber, CBE be appointed Chairman of the meeting.

2. EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

RESOLVED:

That by virtue of Paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the remainder of the meeting.

3. APPOINTMENT OF ASSISTANT DIRECTORS OF ENVIRONMENT

The Panel considered applications for the following posts:

(i) Assistant Director of Environment (Design and Implementation)

(ii) Assistant Director of Environment (Environmental Performance and Innovation)


(iii) Assistant Director of Environment (Management)

Mr. M. H. Denton-Thompson, Mr. R. Lawes, Mr. R. P. Lisney and

Mr. A. A. Mills were interviewed.

RESOLVED:

(i) That the following offers be made and the Cabinet be advised accordingly:

· Assistant Director of Environment (Performance and Innovation -

Mr. M. H. Denton-Thompson;


· Assistant Director of Environment (Management) -

Mr. A. A. Mills.

(ii) That no offer be made in respect of the post of Assistant Director of

Environment (Design and Implementation).
