To consider the report of the Chief Executive which describes progress against targets after six months of implementation of the local Public Service Agreement.

6. APPLICATION UNDER THE BEACON COUNCIL SCHEME - "RETHINKING CONSTRUCTION" (Report herewith)

To consider the report of the Chief Executive on an application made for Beacon Council status under the theme of "Rethinking Construction".

7. CONTRACTORS' INSURANCE (Report herewith)

To consider the report of the Chief Executive seeking endorsement for arrangements put in place by the Risk Management Board for agreeing when lower levels of insurance may be required of contractors who are undertaking work for the County Council.

8. MEMBERS' ATTENDANCES AT CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS - APRIL - SEPTEMBER 2002 (Report herewith)

To receive the report of the Chief Executive on Members' attendances at conferences and seminars for the period April - September 2002.

RECOMMENDATION:

That, by virtue of the paragraph of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 referred to below, the press and public be excluded from the meeting:-

10. BEST VALUE REVIEW OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL'S CORPORATE AIM "ACHIEVING ECONOMIC PROSPERITY" (Report herewith)

To consider the confidential report of the Head of Economic Development on matters relating to the Best Value Review of the County Council's corporate aim "Achieving Economic Prosperity". The report of the Audit Commission is confidential until published in final form (expected early November) hence the confidentiality of this item.

11. NURSING CARE INVESTMENT STRATEGY (Report herewith)

To consider the confidential report of the Director of Social Services, County Treasurer and Director of Property, Business and Regulatory Services on proposals relating to capital investment in nursing care.
