1. Summary
1.1 The Borough Council has agreed the publication of and consultation on a Draft Plan to cover the period to 2011. The County Council has been consulted on this draft and is supportive of the transport proposals. The formal six weeks consultation period is programmed to start on 8 November 2002 and will include a series of exhibitions for Andover in November and December.
1.2 The document is currently being printed and will also be available on CD-ROM and on the Borough Council's website. All households in the borough will receive (as part of the autumn edition of Test Valley News) a summary showing the key elements of the Plan and details of how to comment on its content.
1.3 Following the closing date for comments, the Borough Council will consider those received and, in terms of the transport issues, will consult the Highway Authority on the scope for any amendments to the Plan. It is then hoped to place the second stage on deposit in the summer of 2003.
