In June 2002 a meeting was held of those responsible for the wide range of current planning and management initiatives affecting the River Hamble, in order to raise awareness and understanding. It was agreed that a Guide be produced to clarify the aims, purposes and scope of the various plans and other projects. As the draft Guide, attached as an appendix, is of interest to a much wider audience than those who are closely involved in the various initiatives, it is considered that it ought to be made available to the public.
Recommendation
That the River Hamble Harbour Management Committee be advised that the Guide to the Planning and Management of the Hamble Estuary be made publicly available, both as a free document and on the Harbour Authority's website.
