6. REVIEW OF LOCAL BUS SERVICE FUNDING (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the Director of Environment detailing the consideration of the County Council's approach to the funding of local bus services which took place at the meeting of the Environment Policy Review Committee on
16 October 2002. The report follows up certain points raised at the meeting on
16 October, details further work planned and scopes the basis of the proposed Bus Strategy which is currently under development.

7. BEST VALUE REVIEW OF POLICY DEVELOPMENT IN ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the Director of Environment and Chief Executive describing the progress made on the Best Value Review of Policy Development in the Environment Department and sets out a proposed vision for the future which the Committee is invited to endorse.

8. THE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF AIR TRANSPORT IN THE UNITED KINGDON: A NATIONAL CONSULTATION (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the Director of Environment detailing the key strategic issues for Hampshire and recommending a response following the launch of regional consultation documents by the Secretary of State for Transport setting out a range of options for the future development of air services and airports in the United Kingdom over the next 30 years.

9. TOPICS FOR FUTURE DISCUSSION BY THE ENVIRONMENT POLICY REVIEW COMMITTEE (Report herewith)

To consider a report of the Director of Environment detailing discussions that have been held to explore ways in which the Environment Policy Review Committee can become more engaged in developing its scrutiny and policy formation functions. The report also outlines how those discussions have developed and proposes a way forward for the Committee to debate.

County Councillors attending as appointed members of this committee or by virtue of Standing Order 17.5; or with the concurrence of the Chairman in connection with their duties as members of the Council or as a local County Councillor qualify for travelling expenses.
