BEST VALUE REVIEW - FIRE SAFETY

Progress Report (2)

The Working Group last met on Tuesday 5 November 2002.

Having completed the research and consultation phases, the review is on course to complete its first draft by early December 2002.

The wide reaching consultation process, undertaken both internal and external to the organisation, has resulted in questionnaire return rates exceeding forty percent, with over four hundred questionnaires being examined.

Having tasked Opinion Research Services (ORS) with compiling and analysing a customer satisfaction survey, the results have been published and are being analysed in conjunction with questionnaires that have targeted partnership working, agency working, hard to reach community groups and local employers understanding of the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations).

Further consultation has included ten individual focus groups. Targeting Community Fire Safety, Technical Fire Safety, Administrative and CAD staff and members of the public. All the information obtained from the foregoing will be used to form the basis of the first draft document.
