To receive the Minutes of the meeting of the Panel held on 12 November, 2002 and to confirm as a correct record.
3. ATTENDANCE ON MANDATORY HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING COURSES AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY
(Report herewith)
To consider a report of the Chief Constable on the health and safety training policy which is appended to the report. The policy identifies basic generic health and safety training courses available, who should attend and how often refresher courses should be attended.
4. POLICE STRENGTH FORECAST 2002/03 (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the Chief Constable showing the current and expected position on police numbers for 2002/03.
5. RECRUITMENT UPDATE (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the Chief Constable illustrating the trends in police officer recruitment, which continues to be positive.
6. HOUSING PROVISION FOR POLICE STAFF (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the Chief Constable on the proposal made by a local housing association to allow the authority to support the provision of rented accommodation for police staff at affordable rents. Approval of this scheme will have an impact on the capital programme for 2003/04.
7. SICKNESS ABSENCE (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the Chief Constable on the management of sickness absence which is a key performance indicator for the Constabulary. The report illustrates the average duty days lost through sickness absence per individual (police and support staff) over a two year period.
8. RESTRICTED DUTIES (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the Chief Constable indicating the number of officers subject to restricted duties in each division at the end of November, 2002.
9. ESTABLISHMENT REPORT PART I (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the Chief Constable on police officers who have been commended by the Chief Constable since the last meeting.
10. EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC
RECOMMENDATION:
That, by virtue of Paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from this part of the meeting.
11. ESTABLISHMENT REPORT PART II (Report herewith)
To consider an exempt report of the Chief Constable on various personnel matters since the last meeting.
12. EMPLOYMENT TRIBUNAL STATISTICS (Report herewith)
To consider an exempt report of the Chief Constable on employment tribunal statistics which have been updated since the last meeting.
13. LEGAL PROTECTION INSURANCE FOR CHIEF SUPERINTENDENTS AND SUPERINTENDENTS (Report herewith)
To consider an exempt report of the Clerk in relation to a request from the Hampshire Branch of the Police Superintendent's Association that the Authority pays the premiums with effect from 1 April, 2003.
14. APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY CHIEF CONSTABLE (Report herewith)
To consider an exempt report of the Clerk regarding a personal contractual issue.
