PART I
ANNUAL LIBRARY PLAN 2002
1. The Executive Member has considered the Annual Library Plan 2002 which is a statutory requirement by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and has to be submitted during the autumn of each year. The plan has been submitted to the DCMS in draft form since there is a requirement that the final version is ratified by the full Council.
2. The format and requirements for annual library plans change only slightly from year to year and the Executive Member received a report on the significant changes being proposed to the 2001 plan. These changes figured, inter alia, in the statement of objectives, service delivery and resources, performance appraisal and rolling action plans and targets sections of the document. A copy of the 2002 version has been placed in the Members' rooms.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Annual Library Plan 2002 be approved and submitted to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
