Notice of Motion - Facilities for Disabled People

1. Summary

1.1 The following decisions are sought:

That it be a RECOMMENDATION to the Council:


1. To endorse the action being taken in response to the Disability Discrimination Act 1996.


2. To establish a Member/Officer Working Party comprising Councillors Mrs. E. M. F. Randall; Phrynette Dickens and W. H. Wheeler plus appropriate officers, to report twice yearly to the Buildings, Land and Contracts Panel; Councillor W. H. Wheeler to be appointed Chairman of the Working Party.

2. Reasons

2.1 At the County Council meeting on 20 February 2003 Councillor W.H. Wheeler's Notice of Motion about facilities for disabled people was referred to the Buildings, Land and Contracts Panel to advise the Leader on the matter in relation to his report back to the Council. The report considered by the Panel is appended.

3. Other Options Considered and Rejected

To reject the Motion.
