Community Strategy Budget: Bids for Funding

1. Summary

1.1. The following decisions are sought:

    (i) To note an allocation of £1,000, from the New Forest Local Strategic Partnership to support the new Active For Life project for 50+.

    (ii) To note an allocation of £500 from the New Forest Local Strategic Partnership, as a contribution towards the r4u2 website.

    (iii) To approve an allocation of £2,000 from the East Hants Community Partnership towards supplementing the research being undertaken as part of the Alton Town Health Check.

    (iv) To approve an allocation of £2,342 from the Winchester and District Working Together Partnership as a contribution to the costs of the conference to set up the Local Strategic Partnership.

    (v) To approve an allocation of £4535 from the New Forest Local Strategic Partnership to support the Participatory Needs Assessment Action Plan, which asks for facilities and drop in venues for young people, in the form of a chat room in Pennington.

    (vi) To recommend to the Leader an allocation of £10,000 from Basingstoke and Deane Local Strategic Partnership to contribute towards the appointment of a Partnership Manager to co-ordinate the planning, projects and monitoring of the LSP, with the intention of reviewing the position again next year should funds still be needed.

    (vii) To recommend to the Leader a bid of £20,000 from Hart Community Partnership, to set up a `One-Stop Shop' for the community in Hook as part of the work of the Partnership. More information, as requested relating to matched funding from the other partners has now been received.

1. Reason(s):

2.1 The Chief Executive can approve amounts up to £2,000. The above request(s) lettered (i) and (ii) for funding therefore requires noting by the Executive Member for Community Development and Regeneration.

2.2 The Executive Member for Community Development and Regeneration can approve amounts between £2000 and £5000. The above request(s) lettered (iii), (iv) and (v) for funding therefore requires approval.

2.3 The Leader can approve amounts over £5,000 as referred to him by the Executive Member for Community Development and Regeneration. The above requests lettered (vi) and (vii) for funding therefore requires referral to the Leader with a recommendation for approval.

2. Other Options considered and rejected: Not to approve these allocations,

      however it is considered that making these allocations constitutes an effective

      use of resources considering the benefits that they will bring.

5. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee - Not applicable.
