1. Applications have been received from people in Hampshire undertaking expeditions, overseas projects, personal development, etc. in accordance with the following details:-
1.1. Hayley Fitton, Tadley
Hayley is taking part in "Roverway - People in Motion" which is a new European Event for Scouts and Guides aged 16 - 22. The first edition will take place in Portugal this summer where Hayley will be expected to take part in various building projects, including building playgrounds. She needs to raise £450 for the event.
Recommendation: £100
1.2. Catriona Hendry, Andover
Catriona (18) has been chosen as part of the Hampshire Scout Expedition, to take part in Uganda 2003 Project. The project will entail community work, including building schools and teaching English to school children in the village of Lukotaime. She needs to raise £1,635.
In February 2002, Catriona received a £150 grant towards a community project in Tanzania.
Recommendation : Nil, in view of previous grant awarded.
1.3. Graham Wilkinson, Eastleigh
Graham (14),who is dyslexic and attends Alderman School in Eastleigh is undertaking an expedition to Belize in December this year for five weeks.
Whilst out there he will be helping with an ongoing building project to provide facilities for the local community.
Graham is one of sixteen explorer scouts from Hampshire who are required to raise £1,800 each.

1.4. Aidan Wilson, Chandler's Ford
Aidan (14) who is dyslexic attends Alderman School in Eastleigh is undertaking an expedition to Belize in December this year for five weeks.
Whilst out there he will be helping with an ongoing building project to provide facilities for the local community.
Aidan is one of sixteen explorer scouts from Hampshire who are required to raise £1,800 each.

1.5. Marcus Payne, Hayling Island
Marcus who is 13 years of age has been selected to take part in a National Youth Music Theatre Project in Belfast's production of "Generator 6". Rehearsals take place in May and August, culminating in two performances at the Belfast Lyric Theatre on 8 and 9 August.
Marcus needs sponsorship of £750 to pay for accommodation, food and pastoral care in Belfast and has a £250 shortfall.
Councillor Gale supports this grant request.

1.6. Ruth Hayman, Winchester
Ruth is currently studying Pharmacy at Bath University but is taking part in a "Transform Programme" run by Christian Relief and Development Tearfund to Rwanda in July this year.
It is a six-week project involving work with local churches to build mud houses for families and decorating local health centres. Ruth needs to raise £1,650 to cover flights insurance, transport, food costs etc.
At the age of 14, Ruth entered into the care of Hampshire Social Services and has worked closely and been involved with several Hampshire Youth Service projects.
