Saline Lagoons Project Report

1 Summary

1.1 The Saline Lagoons Project was completed in March, 2003 and a summary of the project will be presented to the Committee by the Director of Recreation and Heritage.

2 Background

2.1 The Saline Lagoons Project at Lymington-Keyhaven was established in 1999 for a four year period, funded by the EU LIFE Nature programme, in partnership with the RSPB and Havant BC, covering ten Natura 2000 sites in England. The project at Lymington was successfully concluded at the end of March, 2003.

3 Summary of the Project

3.1 A summary of the work of Saline Lagoons Project will be presented by officers of the County Council's Countryside Service, on behalf of the Director of Recreation and Heritage.

RECOMMENDATION:

That the conclusion of the Saline Lagoons Project under the LIFE Nature programme be endorsed.
