Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

1. That the response to the DfES consultation paper "Building Schools for the Future" set out at Appendix 1, strengthened and amplified in the light of the views expressed by the Education Policy Review Committee, is approved for submission to the DfES.

2. That representations to the same effect be made to the Local Government Association and Hampshire Members of Parliament.

Reason

2.1 To approve a response to the Department for Education and Skills to the consultation paper "Building Schools for the Future".
