Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That the Executive Member for Education advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that he supports the project appraisal for the construction of a multi-purpose Sports Hall, Fitness Suite and associated changing facilities and synthetic turf pitch at an estimated cost of £2,023,000 excluding fees.

Reason(s)

2.1

The project is a direct result of the need to develop the existing sports facilities as a benefit to both the school and the communities of Lymington, Pennington and the surrounding New Forest community.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
