MANOR FIELD JUNIOR SCHOOL, BASINGSTOKE
APPLICATION FOR A REDUCTION IN THE STANDARD NUMBER FOR ADMISSIONS
1. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with section 93(3) of, and paragraph 5(1) of Schedule 23 to, the School Standards and Framework Act 1998, that Hampshire County Council, being the admission authority for the Manor Field Junior School, proposes to apply to the School Organisation Committee for a reduction in the standard number applying to that school for pupils of age 7+, in the school year 2003/04 and any subsequent school year, from 68 to 60.
2. In the school year 2002/03 the number of pupils admitted at age 7+ was 55.
3. Paragraph 5(4) and (5) of Schedule 23 to the 1998 Act and regulation 7(2) (a) of the Education (School Organisation Proposals) (England) Regulations 1999 provide that any person may, within the period of two months beginning with the date of publication of these proposals, submit objections to the proposals. Objections should be sent to The School Organisation Committee (Ref "KW"), Chief Executive's Department, The Castle, Winchester, Hampshire SO23 8UJ.

a. This notice relates to a proposal to limit the number of pupils to be admitted to the school to the number that can be accommodated in the premises currently available. b. The number of pupils on the roll of the school in September 2003 was 224.
