1. Summary

1.1 This report follows on from the report to Cabinet in February at which it was
decided to seek the views of the Policy and Resources and Environment Policy
Review committees and the Joint Advisory Panel on the statement by the
Deputy Prime Minister to inform the Cabinet's decision.

1.2 Those views have now been sought and the recommendation to the Cabinet is
that a letter be sent to the Deputy Prime Minister welcoming the investment
aspects of the proposals but raising concerns over the impact of the proposals
on Hampshire.

2. Reason

2.1 The Communities Plan statement by the Deputy Prime Minister makes proposals which will affect the delivery of services in Hampshire and the County Council needs to respond in relation to the implications of the proposals.
