1. The Committee will recall that Richard Samuel, Assistant Chief Executive of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Health Authority (HIOWHA), will report to each meeting of the committee emerging issues concerned with management and development of NHS services in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to alert the Committee to matters which may result in NHS bodies discussing with local authority overview and scrutiny committees changes and developments which might constitute substantial development and variation in health services within the context of paragraph 4 of the Regulations (The Local Authority (Overview and Scrutiny Committees Health Scrutiny Functions) Regulations 2002).

2. Richard Samuel will set out for the Committee the HIOWHA's intention to publish a `resource pack' relating to the on-going HealthFit exercise.

1. That the Committee notes this report, and the proposals in the following item for arrangements to respond to HealthFit.
