Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That approval be given to

1) The design project appraisal for the construction of additional accommodation and replacement permanent teaching accommodation at Marchwood Junior School at an estimated cost of £606,000, excluding fees.

2) The negotiation of a contract with Benson Ltd to complete the work at Marchwood Junior School

Reason

2.1

To provide additional basic need places to meet a growth in pupils attending the school and to provide replacement permanent teaching accommodation to replace temporary buildings which will be removed from site.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
