Community Strategy Budget: Bids for Funding

1. Summary

1.1. The following decisions are sought:

(i) That the funding criteria as set out in Appendix B is endorsed.

(ii) To note an approved allocation not exceeding £2,000, to Networkfareham, (Fareham's Community Partnership) to support the steering group in working more effectively together and moving forward the development of their community strategy by a facilitated workshop.

(iii) To approve an allocation not exceeding £3,000 to continue the work of the consultant, previously commissioned to support the Hampshire Strategic Partnership (HSP) and development of the Community Strategy, as approved by the HSP Steering Group at it's meeting on the 28 January 2003.

(iv) That the bid from Rushmoor Strategic Partnership be submitted to Rushmoor Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) for endorsement and more detailed financial information be submitted before further consideration by the Executive Member for Community Development and Regeneration.

Reason:

2.1 The Chief Executive can approve amounts up to £2,000. The above request lettered (ii) for funding therefore requires noting by the Executive Member for Community Development and Regeneration.

2.2 The Executive Member for Community Development and Regeneration can approve amounts between £2000 and £5000. The above request lettered (iii) for funding therefore requires approval

2.3 The Leader can approve amounts over £5,000 as referred to him by the Executive Member for Community Development and Regeneration.

3. Other Options considered and rejected: Not to approve these allocations,

    however it is considered that making these allocations constitutes an effective

    use of resources considering the benefits that they will bring.

4. Conflicts of Interest declared by the decision maker or a member or

    officer consulted - Not applicable.

5. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee - Not applicable.

6. Reason(s) for the matter being dealt with if urgent - Not applicable.
