STANDARDS COMMITTEE
I enclose the agenda, report and supporting papers for the special meeting of the Standards Committee which is due to be held on 8 July 2003. As explained in my letter dated 9 June, this was a date originally programmed for Standards Committee but it will now be used as a special meeting to consider a complaint. The revised date for the full Standards Committee meeting is Tuesday 29 July 2003.

1. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
All Members who believe they have a personal or a personal prejudicial interest in any matter to be considered at the meeting must declare their personal interest and having regard to the circumstances described in paragraphs 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the County Council's Code of Conduct consider whether to leave the meeting whilst the matter is discussed. The declaration should be made at the time of the relevant debate.

3. COMPLAINT OF MEMBER CONDUCT (Report herewith)
To consider a report of the Head of Corporate and Legal Services and Monitoring Officer arising from a complaint made by six Members of the County Council against Councillor Heath, in relation to remarks which he is alleged to have made at the February County Council meeting.
County Councillors attending as appointed members of this Committee or by virtue of
Standing Orders 12(e) or 27; or with the concurrence of the Chairman in connection
with their duties as Members of the Council or as a local County Councillor qualify for travelling expenses. Independent Members' similarly qualify for payment of travelling expenses.
