1 Summary

1.1 The following decisions are sought:

    That the Executive Member for Education advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources.

    That the County Education Officer be given approval for the early retirement (efficiency grounds) of two senior officers within the Education Department.

2 Reason

2.1 To give effect to the early retirements for compelling reasons which were specified in detail to the Executive Member for Education.

3.1 Redeployment or adjustments would be neither practical nor viable.

None.

5. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee

Not applicable.

6. Reason(s) for the matter being dealt with if urgent

6.1 To enable resolution to these situations, the County Education Officer wishes these matters to be resolved prior to 31 August 2003.
